Creative Circle hosts the biggest creative award show in Denmark. As the Chairman of Creative Circle I lead the process of creating a new vision for Creative Circle and implementing it.

Creative Circle was formed as an industry association for individuals working within the creative departments of Denmark’s advertising agencies, with the aim of raising the level of creativity through inspiration and education and by celebrating and documenting outstanding creative work. Although well established within advertising, the organisation was not well represented in other areas of design, such as graphic design and digital design.

The challenge: How might we broaden membership to include all the creative industries and subsequently raise the raise the creative standards in Denmark, and in doing so, strengthen Creative Circle?

To strengthen the brand and mark a new beginning, we developed a new name, concept, visual identity and campaign for both the award show and the organisation. Representatives from a much broader spectrum of industries were identified and invited to join the board of Creative Circle and collaborate in the future development of the organisation.

The new union formed by this collaboration of the creative industries (Design, Web and Advertising) was manifested at the Creative Circle Award 2008, where more than 800 creative people including the Prime Minister of Denmark and the Danish press gathered to celebrate creativity.

That evening, I discussed the impact of Creativity with the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen (now the general secretary of Nato.) I guess it was one of the biggest moments of my life. Creativity was set on the map!
